is that Asami is really perfect. Like, too perfect. Feminine, beautiful and dirty rich.

I feel like viewers tend to identify more with Korra because she has some major issues in her life; she’s a new soul in a very strange world trying to live up to expectations, and, as if that wasn’t enough, her crush is stolen away from her by this sex goddess. Don’t we all feel like that sometimes?

I think most of us are more inspired by the plight of the headstrong, fearless woman than the indulged Jezebel who ruins her life. 

Asami is extremely sexy and embodies the ideal American beauty. In fact, she reminds me a lot of Megan Fox. So why in the world would Bryke pair Mako, a very important main character and not to mention Korra’s crush, with a character who is overtly slutty? It doesn’t make sense. The Avatar has trials to face and obstacles to overcome, but come on guys, it’s a kids show: shehas to work a little, but in the end she’ll get what she wants.

This is why Makorra will be endgame and Masami will die a slow, friendzoned death. I am 76.7% positive.

Of course their characters may develop later on, but this is pretty much my prediction for the series. Asami is way too pretty to get Mako from Korra. Way too pretty.

I really didn’t think I was going to get into the shipping wars, but I really just had to put this out there. Sorry I’m not sorry.

oh, man, you did not just call asami “slutty” for the sole fact that she’s gorgeous. i have no idea why everyone is focusing on her beauty - especially as a minus - because, yeah, she’s pretty and rich, but she’s also nice and pretty friendly and generous. and yeah, like you said, she’s going to develop (and develop flaws) later in the series, but we’ve only seen her for a few minutes in 1.4 so far, so..

makorra fans make me want to ship masami .____________. if there’s one thing we shouldn’t be doing, it’s resenting asami because she’s pretty.

Who the fuck is calling Asami a slut? 

I’m a multi-shipper so I don’t really mind the Makorra vs Masami aspect here since I ignore it. But honestly, if you’re calling Asami a slut just because she’s pretty, I have a MAJOR issue with that. I do not know about her personality since I haven’t watched the episode yet but I have faith that Bryke will develop her character into something great, like they always do. 

So can we PLEASE stop with the Asami hate? 

I was going to scroll past this, but I had to go back because I had to say something. Normally, I stay out of ship wars because I find them completely redundant, but the fact that you are using terms like “friendzone” and “slut” in this discussion rubbed me completely wrong. I saw the episode 5 times, and all I got from Asami’s character was that she was kind enough to take Mako on a date after she ran him over, and then proceeded to then get her father to sponsor the Fire Ferrets because she honestly loved their team.Asami was being kind, she could have just as easily asked Mako if he was ok and just went her way. And Mako could have said no to the date.  Did we see the same episode? Because there was not even the slightest connotation of Asami being what our narrow minded society calls a “slut”. I fail to see what is wrong with Asami, besides the fact that people are rendering her a “slut” because she is gorgeous, kind, and OH! she’s getting in the way of  your ship? Makorra isn’t canon yet- yes I agree that there are blatant examples, but right now we’ve seen a possible crush on Mako coming from Korra’s end, but Mako is single and free to go out with however many ladies hit up his tree. I’m in no way saying that you should love Asami, hate a character however passionately you want! But don’t hate a character you’ve only seen so little screen time for just because she’s messing up your headcanon. Have legit reasons, not just because “omg she likes Mako what a slut” “omg she went on a date with mako what a whore”. If you’re gonna say Asami is a slut, I want proofs, not biased opinions.
