I have done wrong, so build your tower
but call me home, and I will build a throne
#look ship what you want to ship i don’t want to hate on it #but the reason i really can’t get behind 99% of slash ships #is because it is kind of the opposite of activism #not only does it (often) reinforce the idea that two men aren’t allowed to be close friends without someone shouting ‘GAYYYYY’ #but it kind of undermines real gay couples on tv #like all those shows that tease or hint at a gay relationship between the two strain leads #and you know it’s not going to happen but people ship it anyway #(which is fine ship whatever you want!) #but it makes it seem like that’s as far as some networks have to go in terms of having lgbt characters #if they occasionally hint at it and the audience eats it up there (most likely) aren’t going to be any actual gay characters on the show …
being part of a fandom has made me really good at having quiet, contained mental breakdowns
like if you saw me in public you would never guess that at that very moment i was having a complete emotional upheaval over fictional characters
you would have no idea
when i say i ship them i don’t mean i am fervently hoping 9yr old arya and 14/15 yr old gendry (and whatever their age difference on the show is) should get it on already
what i mean is ‘hi you two are kind of adorable together and i will enjoy the idea of you guys hooking up in the future when arya is older but for now i will cherish these innocent and cute moments between you two that make me wanna puke rainbows and all that shit.’
you can like an evil character and not make excuses for why they’re evil
it’s okay
you don’t have to justify their fucked up actions, it’s okay
